The Designer

John Petkanas, a second-generation New York furrier, began his life in fur fashion at age 11 sweeping the floors each Saturday at his father’s workshop. It was there that his passion for the limitless possibilities of fur as a medium of expressing personal style developed. His apprenticeship in skin selection, pelt stretching and cutting began soon after, and when not at school he worked to master the meticulous techniques that would define Jonevon creations. By the age of 17 John was acquiring his own skins to create refined bespoke designs for his own clientele.
